Looking back the history of contemporary art of Japan, the power of collective always provided an impetus for the change of the system. In recent years, with a feeling of strangeness toward the existing system, artists have been trying to make a crustal movement by using the power of collective in order to update their sense of value on art. Of course, there is no fixed method to do so and we do not know what the goal of it. In this feature article, we tried to conduct a case study by collecting various practices and challenges of art collectives. From here, we would like to find a hint to open a new epoch of art in the next generation.
