As a way for this challenge, he chose to dialogue with an artist and a filmmaker, Eugene Kangawa who has completely different background from himself. In 1961, Sony Creative Center was founded as an in-house design team. It's been 55 years since their born.
The transformations in the economy, society, technology, life style, and globalization had a huge influence on the definition of design, the fields that design is expected to function. In our days, SONY says that they are aiming at to be “the most influential design firm” in the future. “Fill in the gap” is their key word to attain their speculative attitude.
Going beyond the frame of “in-house design team”, what kind of future are they trying to depict? What makes them feel the gap, and how will they bridge it? Let's see in action!
